Hello ,

Sure, In my thought about the duplicate content, Same contents available in the multiple locations. It’s may be the same domain or different domains. Is this correct?

Yes, you’re right   You know one thing, It’s one of the most important criteria of the Page Quality rating. Yes, duplicate content is that appears on the internet more than one place. That means “one place” is defined as a place/location with a unique website address (URL) so, if the same content appears at more than one web address, then it is called as a duplicate content.

When the Googlebot visits your website, it saves the content to their databases. Somewhere along the line (usually it will take 72 hours to crawl) your content gets compared with other contents in their database which are stored in their DB. If the contents match from them, Google may decide your content is a duplicate. Then Google decides which version of the content is the most authoritative and deserving of being shown to the searchers and only that page will index on Google and other pages may not consider.

If you have multiple versions of the domains with the same content, you must to do the canonicalization. this is the only solution to avoid duplicate content issues.

Hope you can understand my point, Do you know what is the meaning of canonical tag? if not please drop me out!

Yes, you’re right

A canonical tag is a small piece of code embedded into the webpage that can help to the SE deal with multiple versions of the same page. It is supported to three of the most popular search engines and allows to the webmasters to specify a preferred address for content that might be duplicated.

The search engines and visitors need to know which version that you had preferred. Therefore you have to verify your all domain versions and to set a preferred domain, it impacts the crawling and indexing process.

If you are not set the preferred domain, Google treats the www and non-www versions of the domain as separate references to separate pages. To Avoid the conflict, we should follow above things.
